Artificial Intelligence and Languages for Specific Purposes

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has rapidly advanced in recent years and has shown great potential for various applications, including Languages for Special Purposes (LSP). The special issue of Scripta Manent aims to explore the intersection of AI and LSP, highlighting the latest research, challenges, innovative methodologies, and practical applications in this emerging field. We invite original contributions that investigate the utilization of AI in LSP learning and teaching, e.g., text summarization, terminology extraction, corpus analysis, domain-specific knowledge representation, and AI-driven tools for domain-specific language learning and teaching.

Authors are encouraged to submit their original research articles and teaching reports on the following (but not limited to) topics related to AI and LSP:

  1. Domain-specific text mining and information extraction
  2. Terminology extraction and management for specialized domains
  3. Intelligent tutoring systems for domain-specific language learning
  4. AI-driven tools for professional writing and editing in specialized domains
  5. Machine translation and multilingual communication in specialized domains
  6. AI-assisted translation and interpreting
  7. Language technologies for LSP domains
  8. Corpus-based studies in specialized languages
  9. The use of AI in teaching LSP
